Love Me Beauty Box - November

Today I received my first ever Beauty Box! I decided after some research to go for the Love Me Beauty one, as I liked the idea that you can pick from a menu so if there's something you reallllly want you can be sure to get it!

As this was my first one I thought I'd go for a suprise!

First of all I love the packaging. Opening it was like receiving an early Christmas pressie! So what was in the box?

1. Balm Balm Detox bath and shower oil. Retail price - £6 5ml
Box value received - £6 5ml

2. Mitchell an peach retail - £20 250ml
Box sample value - £4 50ml

3. Models own - Hot Pink - £5 full 14ml
Actual box value - £5 14ml

4. Le Soin Purifant Absolution - Masque-
28€ (£23.23 current exchange rate) 50ml
Actual Box value - £18.58 40ml

5. Jelly Pong Pong 2 in 1 Eyeliner & Eyeshadow. Full Size - £10.50 2.8g
Actual box value - £10.50 2.8g

Overall the box cost £12.95 including postage and packing.

The actual Value of all the contents equates to approx £43.08

This find made me over the moon! It's an absolute bargain and I can't wait to try out all my new beauty treats!!

The only downside is that the box doesn't fit inside your letter box so it means if you're not in you have to drive to the post office or arrange re delivery, not as easy as I'd hoped. Other than that the concept is fab!

If you'd like to try it for yourself click here!

Until next time

Christmas Cocktails

Hooray! It’s the weekend and now that you’re looking super glam, it’s time to move on to the most delicious part of all. My next two blogs will feature drinks and food to delight even the most discerning guest’s taste buds.
Bored of the usual culprits when it comes to drinks? Why not try something different and get your guests into the festive spirit by enjoying some scintillating sherry! Everyone knows its Santa’s favourite drink and who can argue with a guy like Santa?
I recently received a bottle of Harveys Bristol cream*.  With its fruity and almond flavours it’s the perfect Christmas treat and I can’t control my excitement in sharing some yummy festive recipes with you.
For your guests who appreciate the simple things in life serve up Harveys Bristol Cream over ice with a slice of fresh orange.

If you’d like things to get fruitier here’s some delicious recipes to get you in the party mood:

Harveys Mulled Apple and Winter Spice

A real festive treat, this yummy alternative to mulled wine is the perfect way to warm up your party guests.
Slowly heat 200ml of Harveys Bristol Cream with 500ml of premium pressed apple juice, six cloves and 50g of vanilla sugar in a pan for 15 minutes to release the sweet spice flavours
Strain into a warm jug, garnish with apple slices and serve in glasses with a star anise.

Harveys and Lemonade

My own personal favourite, this delicious cocktail isn’t just for Christmas.
Place some orange and apple slices into a high ball glass along with ice
pour over 50ml of Harveys Bristol Cream
Top up with good quality lemonade
Stir generously and garnish with a twist of orange peel

If I’m honest I never thought of sherry as a drink that I would like, but after trying these cocktails I can’t wait to make it a more popular choice with my friends and family!

If you would like to try Harveys Bristol Cream for yourself, it is available widely at supermarkets across the UK for only £9.41 RRP.
For more information visit Harveys Website Here.

Please enjoy Harveys responsibly,

Until next time

Christmas party makeup ideas...

Hey!

I hope you're ready for the next installment of my Christmas countdown as it's a goody! Now we've got our outfits sorted its time to move onto all things bright and beautiful, focusing today on the makeup department!

At Christmas we spend a fortune on presents so I wanted to do makeup looks that were affordable and used items you probably already have in your makeup bag! I treated myself to a new few beauty bits after reading up on contouring and I think I'm just starting to get the hang of it. So here's a few ideas to get you started and looking beaut in time for that all important party:

The Kit:

Ok to to achieve these looks you only need 10 items in your beauty bag. Easy huh?

My kit from left to right is as follows:

- Maybelline - Brow drama in dark blonde.
- 17 - Stay Time 18 hour Concealer in extra fair (perfect for my fellow English roses!)
- 17 - Stay Time 25 hour wear foundation in soft ivory.
- Rimmel London- instant wash off tan in light matte
- The Body Shop- Moisture foundation in colour number 02.
- Natural Collection - Black kohl eyeliner
- Models Co - Lip pencil in nude
- No7 - Moisture Drench colour 110
- MUA - Eyeshadow Pallete in Ever After Matte Pallete
- Lush- Fresh Handmade multi use colour in Fantasy
- Just realised I also haven't included my trusty Avon Shock mascara in black! (Oops! Let's call it 11 ;) )

Au naturel

Don't panic, the thought of going for natural makeup for a party gets most girls in a spin, but this Christmas give the false eyelashes a miss and let your natural beauty do the talking.

For this look I used the body shop moisture foundation as a base and used the rimmel instant tan and the 17 stay put foundation to contour my features. I used Unwrap and Taffeta on my eyelids from the MUA Ever After Pallete brushed over to give my eyes a gentle pop. I finished off the look by taming my eyebrows with the magical Maybelline brow drama mascara and lashings of avons Shock mascara on my eyelashes.
It's dead simple and brings out the best features that you are already blessed with without being too heavy!

Vamp it up

Prefer to smoulder? For this look I repeated the base as stated above but added a dramatic eye and lip. For the eye I blended Fade, Chino and Smoke from the MUA Pallete to create a sexy rock chick vibe. I used the Natural collection kohl eye liner to line the eyes. As above I used brow drama to tame my brows and finished the look with a swoosh of No7's moisture drench lipstick and a flutter of Avons shock mascara in black.

Grecian Goddess

To work my inner goddess I applied the base as stated in the 2 looks above. To give this look a difference I wanted to add the Midas touch. I absolutely love my Lush handmade cosmetics. It can be used as eyeshow, eyeliner or mascara! Here I chose to use it as an eyeshadow for a gorgeous golden eye. I finished off the look using a nude lip, made easy with Model co's nude lip liner and a quick dab of lipbalm. Finished off once again with a flutter of the Avon Shock mascara.

Do a Swifty

If all other inspiration fails you, remember your girl crush. They usually have flawless makeup and tips to boot! I love how taylor swift always has beautiful cat flick eyes and teams it with an elegant red lip. Get this look by following the base tips above and adding a feline flick with your kohl or liquid liner and a pop of your favourite bright lipstick! I used my No7 moisture drench in 110 which is my all time favourite shade! I'd honestly be lost without it!

So there you have it girlies! 4 fabulous looks to get you through the holiday season and all with only 10 (okay 11 :p) items in your makeup bag!

Join me in my next countdown blog when I'll be showing you how to's on the hairstyles above so that you can ace your look and concentrate on being the perfect hostess.

Until Next Time!

Stay Beautiful

The Liebster Award

The Liebster award is an award created by bloggers, for bloggers! I hadn't heard of it until recently when I came across it on a few blogs. I never imagined someone would be kind enough to nominate me, so thank you to the sweet Micaylah for nominating me to take part in a fun and great idea that aims to promote new blogs, you can follow her blog Here!, so here it goes:

Anything that's been written with passion, that gets me excited!

What is your favourite blush in general?

I love a nice cream blush, in a pale pink colour to suit my pale skin.

Do you like wearing nude looks or colour?

What is your favourite lipbalm?

I love the bodyshops raspberry lip balm. Yum!

What do  you like most about yourself?

This is the bit where all of us cant think of anything! eek! Id like to say that for personality I'm a nice person and ill always try and help people in anyway I can, often putting them first. For looks I'd say my big eyes!

Where do you see your blog in 5 years?

Hopefully with a lot more followers and a larger readership, working with PR companies and moving the blog forward in design and content, keeping it current and up to date.

How long does it take you to choose an outfit?

On a morning before work probably 5 minutes as I am always behind schedule! When going out I often plan a few days before to avoid the last minute panic.

What are your blog goals?

To have a great readership. To continually write things people are interested in.

If your blog doesn't get to where you want in 6 months, will you stop blogging?

No I don't think I will, I think you have to give things time to develop.

What are your top 3 pet peeves?

Arrogance, Ignorance and when people leave the butter and their buttery knife on the side in the kitchen. That really grinds my gears! :p

What are you most thankful for?

My beautiful family. Especially my strong amazing mum. She has had the hardest 5 years, I wont go into detail, but she is the bravest, kindest, most hardworking person I have ever had the pleasure to meet. My dads also awesome for standing by her side through everything.

OOTD oasis Christmas treat...

Every year I treat myself to a Christmas present from myself (or 2 or 3) to reward myself for all my hard work that year. This year I decided I wanted the perfect Christmas dress!

Having admired an M&S number featured on their new 'Magic & Sparkle' ad, modelled by the stunning Rosie Huntington-Whitely, seen below:

I decided that as stunning as it was I wanted something in a nice jewel colour.

If the pretty white dress is more your thing it can be found on the m&s website here!

But snap it up quick girlies as I imagine it will fly off the hangers and into lots of lucky girls wardrobes!

In steps my OOTD:

This stunning, beautifully fitted dress is an
Oasis number. With its beautiful tailored waist it glides over every curve. Made from beautiful thatched check emerald green fabric it's a jewel coloured beauty to behold! I don't think I have had so much love for a dress in a long while! What excites me is that it is a dress and jewellery all in one! I also love that is the kind of dress you can dress down with ankle boots and tights, or dress up with sparkly heels and some more added jewels!

At £75 it's probably slightly more than my usual spend, but I figure that it will be the kind of dress I'll wear again and again.

It's available on their website : Here!

My gorgeous velvet blue jewelled shoes were a steal last year in an m&s sale at just £12

Until next time

Dare to Bare?

L'oreal claims it's new skin perfection serum protects and perfects so that you can dare to bare and go makeup free. I thought I'd try it out to see what gives:

1. The packing: Whilst basic the packing is girly and functional. The hot pink makes it nice and eye catching and the pump on the bottle means you don't waste any product.

Before:

After:

The instructions on the serum state to use a moisturiser after you apply it. I prefer to use clinique dramatically different moisturising lotion.

I still don't think I would dare to bare, but after a using the perfector for a month my skin is smoother with a nice dewy glow.

In the same range L'oreal also sell a skin perfection BB cream. So I thought I'd try that too.

On their website it claims that:

"New Skin Perfection BB Cream, with SPF 25. The 5 in 1 Blemish Balm, helps protect the skin from premature skin ageing caused by UV rays. The tinted lightweight formula perfects complexion for a healthy-looking glow.  "

And it certainly offers the latter! The BB cream glides on flawlessly and gives my pale skin a lovely dewy glow. It gives great coverage without being too heavy an hides all my redness and blurs my spots.

Overall id definitely say it's worth trying. And with a 3rd off on all L'oreal skincare at the moment at boots, you'd be silly not to!!

Until next time

X B
