The 90's Kid Tag

In honour of it being throwback Thursday, I thought it would be fun to do the 90's kid tag today! I enjoyed last weeks past beauty trends chat with #bbloggers so much and it made me giggle all night long!

To start us off, here's a blurry screenshot of 90's me rocking a cutesy bob, a classic 90's Adidas track suit and some kind of medallion. Mr T hasn't got nothing on me!

  1. Favourite Toy's? When I was younger, I was literally OBSESSED with pound puppies. I used to buy them in Woolworths with my pocket money and I even had all of the videos. They were these cute little teddy dogs that had little places to sleep. I adored them.  I also really loved Polly Pockets. The little shells with the teeny tiny Polly's that got sucked up the Hoover! Now they're so big that there's just no adventure in the fact that Polly might be no more!
  2. Favourite Advert's? I don't really remember any adverts. Which is rubbish really.
  3. N'sync or Backstreet Boy's? N'sync for sure!
  4.  Weirdest Fashion Trend? Huggggeee flares. In bright colours.
  5. Favourite Collectable? Pokemon Cards. I had so many. My best achievement was getting a shiny charizard, which I was persuaded to swap for something else and then cried when I got home until I finally got it back again.
  6. Favourite Beanie Baby? My favourite is still misty the unicorn or chinook which is my birthday bear. He has Canadian maple leaves all over him.
  7. How Many Tamagotchi's Did You Go Through? I had one, which I kept alive all through the summer holidays. The first day back at school I asked my dad to "pet sit" for me. I came back and it was dead. I was heart broken.
  8. Favourite Game System and Game? Super Nintendo! Had to be Mario or there was this amazing came called twinbee and something? You were like a round spaceship and you use to shoot and collect things. It was all brightly Fluro coloured and was A-mazing! I miss that game!
  9. Favourite Disney Channel Original Movie? Ummm is that like Mickey Mouse? If it is I guess fantasia is pretty amazing or the little mermaid. I loved her.
  10. Favourite Music Artist? I was a sucker for blue!
  11. Favourite Nick Jr. Show? Blue's clue's.
  12. Favourite Candy? Those longgggg red laces! I used to try and pull them apart bit by bit and if it broke the game was ruined.
  13. Favourite Game? Kurplunk! I had a chocolate version of that once. It was really cool, but it didn't last long!
  14. Favourite McDonald's Happy Meal Toy? I used to love going on holiday to France, they used to give out amazing happy meal toys that were better than England. I can't even think of them off the top of my head. But they were so much better!
  15. Favourite Book? Oh gosh I had so many! I was that annoying girl at school who always read faster than the teacher could provide books and I always got to go on the special book van and pick some books for the class!
  16. Favourite Clothing Store? Tammy pretty much sums up 90's fashion! Although I remember going to Cheshire oaks in the 90's to buy clothes for a holiday and we went to nike and got mum and dad to buy us these like waistcoat, gilet things. They were horrible!!
  17. What Would You Watch When You Got Home From school? Hey Arthur!
  18. Favourite TV Show's? Kenan and kel, (who loves orange soda?!) Sabrina the teenage witch, Power rangers, Sister Sister, Clarissa explains it all,

This post has definitely made my bus journey a little more enjoyable and I'm smiling down memory lane all over again!

If you are a 90s kid I tag YOU to carry the 90's kid tag on! It's truly so much fun!

What is your favourite 90s memory?

Wish List Wednesday - Home Edition

If you caught my post last night, you'll know that at the moment I'm currently building a "bottom drawer," pre empting moving out. So I decided this week was a very special edition of wish list Wednesday featuring all the home pieces I'm lusting over at the moment!

Feeling Grey

Zig Zag cushion - Betty Jackson @ Debenhams - £35

Hanging birds - John Lewis - £4

Crackle Table Lamp - Next - £32

Two Textured Tea light Holders - Next - £8

Peony Jam Jar - Next - £8

I am really loving grey as a decor choice at the moment. It's so versatile and can be mixed in with different shades, or you can use it as a base and add accessories with bright colours to add a pop!

My first ever home decor post!

So this is an exciting post for me, being the first of what I hope is many of my new lifestyle, home decor posts!

Many of you may not have known but this year did not start of with a bang for me. I spent most of Christmas worried about work, only to find out in January that sadly the company I worked for had sadly gone into administration. Not the Happy New Year I had in mind at all. I don't like to mix business with blog and so I haven't written about it until now. The future seemed bleek and the prospect of moving home with the parents and signing onto the dole seemed ever nearing.

Luckily, my perseverance and determination paid off and I got myself a fab new job and although living with the parents is sometimes the worst, it can also be the best!

Now that I am feeling settled me and my beautiful boyfriend have decided to re locate and start looking for a place together, and because of this we have started the classic "bottom drawer." (For anyone who doesn't know what this is, it's basically lots of house bits you buy when you have spare money and save for your first home.)

Over the next few months and the run up to the big move, I'm hoping to share with you all of the bits and bobs I gather along the way!

Our First Home Purchase

I think the first thing you buy for your first home together will always be exciting, for my boyfriend his shiny new Xbox one will hold memories of the time I said "oh go on then, you can have one when we move in together," but for me my memory holding item will be our dinnerware.

I had badgered and badgered about wanting a really nice dinner set to start us off and so when we were in Cheshire Oaks one day and wandered into the Denby outlet, I couldn't help myself!

We decided to start of with a set of 4 of everything as Denby can be a little bit expensive!

We opted for the halo range, which is a beautiful mix of greys, blacks and whites, yet remains anything but boring.

Isn't it gorgeous? I am now hoping our future kitchen is of neutral shades so that we can carry on the mix of dusty greys for a dreamy, minimalist look!

If you love these as much as I do, the range can be found at most Denby outlets and on Denbys website :)

I hope you've enjoyed my first home decor post and it hasn't been too much of a rambled excitement!!

Until next time!

Shopping in London

After the whirlwind of getting the opportunity to go to something like the Brits, the day after was a bit of a come down. Having never been shopping in London, I decided to do what every visitor should do and go to all the biggies!

I navigated the tube to Fortnum & Masons, Harvey Nichols & Harrods.

Fortnum & Masons and Harrods are truly magical shops, a bit like a school of wizardry filled with all of your desires! Floors of chocolates, shoes and handbags. White beauty counters decorated with beautiful flowers, offering every brand you could wish for!

I've decided to make this blog a visual one, so that if you've never been you can gawp and dream about the shops and add them to your must visit wish lists! Enjoy!

The last one is a £1000 Easter egg. I hope there are shoes or a handbag inside!

Until next time!

The Brits 2014

A week ago my sister text me saying "do you want to go to the Brits?!"

How does a girl say no to an offer like that? She'd only gone and won two tickets!

So on Wednesday afternoon I hopped on the speedy virgin train to London - only hour and 15 minutes from Stafford and only arrived 2 minutes late. Yay for good trains!

When we arrived in London I quickly whipped to my brothers, luckily located close to euston station and got ready to go!

What She Did Brits 2014

I decided on this gorgeous motel rocks number and teamed it with these amazing primark lattice wedges and a River Island clutch!

The first thing that struck me when I arrived, as someone who isn't a Londoner and a country bumkin like myself, after navigating the tube, was the sheer magnitude of the 02 arena!

The 02 Arena

In this shot you can see the red carpet, but as it was cold we decided to head straight inside to get a drink and relax!

The Brits 2014

We had fantastic seats right above all of the Celeb tables and me and my sister played a game of spot the celeb. It was very funny to watch them in the distance milling around eachothers tables and very surreal to see them all there. Throughout the night I wondered to myself if to them the situation feels a little like a goldfish bowl?

Performances at The Brits

Bastille & Rudimental

Pharrell

My personal stand out performances of the night had to be Beyonce & Bastille. Everyone got up on their feet and danced around for their performances and the atmosphere was electric!

My own personal highlight was Harry Styles toilet moment and seeing him run through the crowd just in time to make it up for the end of the award!

Thanks to my sister for taking me to The Brits 2014! I had an amazing time, I only hope that I one day get the chance to go again & maybe get to sneak into the after party or onto the lower tables! A girl can dream! :)

Bath Time Bliss

The weather is miserable, it's cold and the days are long. In the winter I love nothing more than coming home and relaxing in a nice warm bath!

I thought i'd share my favourite beauty treats that leave me in a sleepy bliss!

1. I like to light lots of candles! Recently I love the scent of this Neal & Wolf candle* that was kindly sent to me recently to review. It smells amazing & looks so pretty too.

2. Run some warm water & add a splash of your favourite bubble bath, oils or bath milk. I love the santuary spa foaming bath milk. It's so moisturising and bubbly. Be sure not to let your bath run too hot as this will dry out your skin!!!!

3. Use this as an excuse to exfoliate and give that skin a good old buff. I'm currently using lots of Clarins products & they are fast becoming one of my favourite skincare brands.

4. Once you have exfoliated, treat yourself to a little bit of extra relaxation by using a face mask. This No7 one is my ALL time must have mask. It gets warm as it touches the water on your face and smells like a lovely dough! Sure to bring you out of your winter blues!

5. Finally, give your hair some love. After shampooing apply a deep conditioning treatment, concentrating on the tips of your hair. I had this beauty recommended to me on twitter and I've been using it for 2 weeks and there is definitely a big improvement!

Now sit back, relax and let the days worries be gone...

Until next time
