I always hear a lot about Philosophy in the beauty blogger circles, so when I saw this Super Soothing Instant Relief Philosophy face mask in the clearance at boots I thought I had to give it a whirl!
Philosophy’s Keep The Peace facemask claims to bring relief to sensitive skin and calm redness. Formulated with montmorillonite clay to fight the redness, aloe to soothe the skin and glycerin for extra hydration, it has the perfect combination of ingredients to battle your sensitive skin.
So what did I make of this philosophy face mask?
First of all, the packaging: It comes in a white tube, decorated with the philosophy font and writing we all know and love. The pale blue Keep The Peace range title follows through with the calming and soothing feel of the whole product and would be a sleek addition to any dressing table.
The mask: The mask has a thick and somewhat heavy consistency but don’t let that put you off. You can really use this product sparingly, which means just one tube will last you for ages. It doesn’t really have a scent, except for a light natural earthy smell, which again is great for sensitive skin, as it can often leave it dry. The instructions request that you leave the mask on for 3-5 minutes, in which time the face mask starts to harden. Cleanse the mask away from your face with a warm cloth and pat with a cold flannel to close all of your pores, pay dry and you’ll have amazing skin.
Overall verdict: I have been using the mask once a week for about 3 weeks now and I have noticed a great improvement on the overall redness of my skin. Areas around my nose and chin that are usually sensitive and sometimes painful are smooth and clear with barely any redness at all!
I would definitely recommend this face mask and I’m now really looking forward to trying out some other philosophy products.
If you’d like to try it for yourself you’ll have to be quick and hunt it down in your local boots clearance section (and I really recommend you do) for £12 or if you’re already too late it’s available for about £10 on eBay.
