If you’re trying to eat healthy, I suggest strongly that you look away now!
I’m trying something new on the blog today with a little recipe post. My all time favourite treats require very little effort, very few ingredients and very little time. A perfect solution for those of you who aren’t big bakers, these sweet treats are bound to get you requests from friends and family a like.
– Half pack of Digestive biscuits
– 2 table spoons Golden syrup
– 2 table spoons butter
– One large bar of milk chocolate
– Treats for your topping e.g mini eggs.
First crush your digestives in a sandwich bag until you create a fairly fine digestive powder. Don’t worry if you have a few chunks left, occasionally I think it’s quite nice. These no-bakes aren’t meant to be perfect, so don’t worry if they’re a little rough and ready!
Next Melt butter & chocolate and add syrup on a low heat in a pan until you create a chocolate sauce.
Pour the sauce over the crushed digestives until you get a sloppy digestive goo.
This is starting to sound yummy and it’s making me hungry!
Next pop the ingredients into a baking tray, or I like to use a soft plastic cake tray as they tend to be easier to get the finished product out of. If you insist on putting them into a baking tray, make sure you line it with grease proof paper or that you grease it before you pop your mix in.
When your mixture is level, score lines in squares or triangles using a sharp knife. This will make it easier to cut later on.
The final step is to add your topping and put them in a fridge for a few hours. When you’re few hours is up, pop them out of the fridge and dig in!
Easy, peasy, and no oven in sight.
