FOTD - Purple Haze

It's been a while since I've had a chance to properly play around with makeup and do a "shoot" with it. After my 100 looks in 100 days posts I felt a bit flat, but recently i'm enjoying playing with makeup again.

I want to try and post a makeup look once a week and try and teach myself something new, so I'll be doing lots of youtube watching and learning over the next few weeks.

With that in mind and with spring on its way, here's my purple haze Face of the Day.

What She Wears -

This weeks What She Wears is a little more edgy and something a bit different for me. I love dresses and so you rarely find me out of one, but recently I'm having a bit of a moment with skirts and finding out I quite like them. I've been building an outfit board on Pinterest so I can build a new wardrobe and this was one of the first outfits I decided to go for.

I ordered the items from boohoo after hours of scouring the Internet for the perfect pieces. I loved the t shirt because it looked comfy and can be multifunctional as it also works great paired with jeans and some ankle boots. I love the skirt because it's a little bit edgy and different, but not too out there.

I got the items with boohoos Sunday delivery service and I cannot tell you how impressed I am. Not only does their website offer an amazing selection of clothes, but their service is amazing!! How many other companies are there where you can order items on a Saturday before 6pm and have them arrive on your doorstep at 11am on a Sunday?!! A Sunday!!
(Cue crazy shocked eyes!!)
Boohoo ootd

I really like this outfit and I'm looking forward to building up a few more items for my new "capsule" wardrobe. Stay tuned every week as I take you through my latest purchases.

My Top 5 Liquid eye liners

Another week, another top 5 here at What She Did HQ. (or just my bedroom!) This week I've been raiding my makeup collection for my 5 favourite Liquid eyeliners. If you're anything like me, getting that perfect cat eye flick can be a pain and you know the struggle is real! When you're in the makeup Isle it's hard to know where to begin, so here's my faves to point you in the right direction!

Best for beginners - No7 Stay Precise Felt tip liner

This No7 is the perfect starter liquid liner. It's thin felt tip brush means that you can basically just angle the brush on your eye and wiggle and you've got the perfect cat flick. I got this around Christmas time and since then I've used it to practice my flick none stop. It also has a really nice thin tip which makes it  a great liner for tight lining too. The liner is available from boots in black or brown for £8.

Best for Long wear - Seventeen Tattoo me 48hr liner

Personally I can't see the need for a 48hr eyeliner, because we all know us beauty bloggers and beauty buffs alike definitely, always take our makeup off perfectly before we go to sleep, right? But the beauties over at seventeen bring us this little gem for those long days and sweaty club nights so you don't have to worry about the dreaded panda eye. The application of this product can be a little sticky, so you may need to clean the brush prior to each use to keep it slick, but once it's on, this little baby ain't going no where! Available at boots for £4.99

Best on a budget - L'oreal Paris Super Liner

At only £7.99 I feel this is the best value for money out of all the liners. It compares to some of the higher end eyeliners I've used and offers easy application, a deep black colour, long wear and super precision. The long handle makes it easy to hold whilst you navigate your eye and the thin tip makes this perfect for building up a thin or thick flick. I can't find this online in drugstores anymore, but it is available online at Amazon.

Best for creative eyes - Rimmel London Scandaleyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner

Every now and again I like to get a bit creative with eye liner and go for something a bit different. This drugstore eyeliner has the perfect multifunctional tip so that you can go for a fat or thin line. The nib has a hard texture, so it is quite rigid but it makes it perfect for straight angular lines. Price £5.49.

Best all rounder - Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner

This baby grabs the number one spot. My all time favourite precision eyeliner offers long lasting, easily applied cat flicks. It offers intense colour with a single stroke and helped me to learn the perfect flick. I don't really have a lot to say about this liner, other than its great and it should be a staple in everyone's makeup collection. After Perusing Eyeko's website I've just seen there is a new and improved formula, who knew this could get even better. You can get your hands it on from their website at the reasonable price of £12.

See you next week for my top 5 highlighters.

OOTD - Are you 'fur' real?

I love clothes, but when it comes to posing for outfit posts, I always feel a bit awkward. Thanks to my lovely friend Laura for the next few weeks I've got some outfit shoots to share with you but please do forgive my awkward poses!

Now onto the outfit. This is the perfect outfit for a night out with the girls as we transition from winter into spring. The fur gilet offers a bit of warmth, whilst the LBD is a classic that will never go out of style. I paired the outfit with a pair of black shoe boots with a sassy high heel. I went for the classic Ariana Grande style pony and natural makeup to lift the look.

Post Winter Beauty Saviours from The Hut

With winter drawing to a close, my skin and hair are crying out for some TLC. Luckily for me recently these two beauties dropped through my mailbox for me to try out from The Hut. To be honest I can't believe that I haven't heard of this website before. With everything from fashion, beauty and homeware this is the ultimate site for everything in one place. I've already found myself getting lost in the website for hours as there really is just so much choice.

Now onto the products:

Balance Me - Radiance mask*

Balance me radiance face mask

This super duper multi tasking mask cleanses, exfoliates and brightens skin in just one use. I've been using this now for a few weeks as part of my weekly cleansing routine and it's definitely made a difference to my skin. I've mostly been using this as a mask but you can also use this amazing product as an exfoliating face wash.

This beautiful face mask is enhanced with rosemary, Palma rosa, calming lavendar and Roman chamomile oils that help smooth and soothe your skin. As a girl with sensitive skin I couldn't love this mask anymore if I tried.

To use the radiance face mask, you smooth it over your cleansed face in circular motions avoiding the eye area. Leave this product on for five minutes before removing it with a damp cloth.

I'd give this product an 8/10 and will definitely be adding it as a weekly treat to my routine. You can get it online for £18 at Here

Tigi Bed Head Urban Antidotes - Recovery Shampoo*

As if having dry skin isn't bad enough in the winter, I often find my poor hair suffers too. Lots of heating and heat styling has left it dry and frazzzzled!

After using the shampoo for the first time it left my hair more silky and smooth. I tried it without a conditioner to see its full effects and it left my hair super shiny! I've always been a fan of Tigi products and so I couldn't wait to try something I haven't used before. Whilst it's not the best shampoo ive ever used, it does exactly what it says on the bottle. You can get your hands on it for £11.95 on the Here

What she did rating 7/10

My Top 5 Pink Lipsticks

Last week I talked you through my favourite red lipsticks and so I thought it only right that we carry on my top 5 beauty series with my favourite pink lipsticks

In my everyday makeup I very rarely where bright and bold colours as the up keep on a red lip can be tiresome. This is where a beautiful pink can come in.

No7 High shine lip crayon - Delicate pink

This little gem was part of my No7 advent calendar at work and it's becoming a fave. More of a crayon than a traditional lipstick, it's high shine, softening finish is the perfect final touch for day to day makeup. The full high shine range is available for £9 at boots.

Essence Long Lasting lipstick* - 12 Blush my lips.

Please don't be swayed by the fact I was sent this lipstick by Essence. Ever since the first time I worked with them, I fell in love with their lipsticks. The textures, the value for money and appearance were all huge bonus' for me and that's why I've included not one, but two of their lipsticks in this post. Blush my lips is not for the faint hearted, a long lasting bright pop of colour makes this a lipstick for the girl that wants to get noticed. You can buy Essence lipsticks for £2.30 from Wilkinsons and you can't say fairer than that!

Lola intense colour lipstick - strawberry fields

Who knew you could find such a summer inspired lipstick at M&S? This little dusky pink beauty offers the perfect mix of colour, shine and moisture and it's not too badly priced at £12.

Essence Lipstick - All about cupcake

I feel like this shade was made for bloggers and girly girls a like. If the name of the shade isn't enough to draw you in, let me tell you this is my third re purchase of this, so I can have one in my handbag, on my dressing table and in my locker at work. Its such a gorgeous powdery pink neautral shade that's easily wearable. Available from wilkinsons stores for £2.

Max Factor Colour Elixir - Vibrant pink

This is my go to lipstick for those days when I'm feeling a little bit peaky and pale. The strong pop of colour warms up my skin and makes me look more alive. It offers defined colour in one perfect sweep and has definitely earned its place in my top 5.

From Left to right: Blush my lips, Strawberry fields, All about cupcake, Delicate Pink, Vibrant Pink.

Which pink should I add to my list next?
