Red Alert - Outfit of the Day

For the last few days I have been lucky enough to stay in one of the most incredible houses I have ever stayed in. As part of the L'Oréal Baby Roll mascara launch we visited Eaton House in Essex which can only be described as a house like something out of a photo shoot set. Quirky touches in every corner and every room thought out to the final detail, it would've been rude not to use the surroundings as an opportunity to shoot my latest buy.  This gorgeous off the shoulder culotte jumpsuit from New Look is the perfect outfit for spring. Easy to dress up or down I can see it becoming a serious staple for the spring months to come.

L'Oréal Infallible Lip Paints

Bold bright lip colours are often hard to find, so when I found out L'Oréal were bringing out a range of L'Oréal Infallible Lip Paints I couldn't wait.

In two varieties of Lacquer and Matte the collection hosts a variation of daring brights and sophisticated nudes so that you can go loud, or even louder.

The texture of the paints is creamy and the colours are bold and build-able. My favourite thing about them is the way they allow me to create texture within my lip art. For every day wear, the lacquers offer a glossy long wearing hit of colour without feeling too sticky.

The vibrant packaging pops off the shelf and is the tube is the perfect size to pop in your clutch bag for a night out. These new beauties will be a staple in my kit as an affordable way to add a vibrant pop of colour into my looks.

Why blogging is more than Freebies & Opportunities

This summer marks the fourth year of What She Did and in all honesty it's probably the longest I've stuck with anything. It brings me joy and happiness and right now I can't imagine a world without my blog. I feel it has grown with me and as the years go on all those nights of rushing home to my dressing table, tablet and phone instead of heading to social occasions finally feel as though they are starting to pay off. This year I have been so lucky to work with some amazing brands that 22 year old me would only have dreamed of, but in amongst all the "freebies and experiences," there are a few things that have really stuck with me through blogging.

Finding myself

I have lived my blog through love, adventures and all that comes between, but I have also blogged in heart break and my lowest ebbs. It has been the imaginary hand to hold me steady when times have been hard, keeping me strong and my head above water. It has been my biggest champion when I can't shout out my talents for myself, it has made me take chances, that little old me never would have taken all those years ago, too meek and mild. Through blogging I have found myself, my voice and who I would like to be. I've found something that finally makes me go "I'm actually alright at that," and may it continue for years to come.

The community

People may shout "what community," but I myself have been very lucky to ride what I feel are the highs of the blogging community. I've had endless support and people pushing me forward and helping me to see my strengths when I may have failed to see them myself. Something I will forever be grateful for.

Friends, friends and more wonderful friends.

I was always a bit of a loner at school. I was bullied and never really felt like I fitted in. The internet gave me somewhere I could finally speak and be myself without anyone making fun of me. I have gained such a wonderful support system in the past 4 years and though in times I have drifted in and out of circles, I know there will always be those people I can count on in a time of need.

For years I felt as though I floated through life, not really knowing what I wanted. I feel my blog has given me a sense of purpose I never really had before. It's the thing that drives me when I wake up in a morning and it's the thing that's buzzing through my mind at the end of a long day. It's a love affair I can't see losing anytime soon and I hope my passion for it just grows and grows with time.

My love of makeup

Believe it or not, before I started my blog, I didn't really wear makeup. It was only with my love of YouTube and beauty bloggers that my passion started to grow. Through endless tutorials I finally found something to rid the stresses of the day and tap into my creative soul.

A sense of independence

A few years ago heading on a train, let alone a train to London terrified me. I hated the idea of having to do the journey alone and I'd put it off any way possible. Now I'm always hunting for the next opportunity to catch up with friends and hop on a train to the big smoke. I used to hate the tube, but now I find myself comfortably finding my way and planning my journeys without a second thought. Whilst I usually head to events with friends, the thought of popping along to one alone now doesn't scare me.

Whilst none of us know how long blogging will last, I will always be thankful for the opportunities and the chances that it has provided me and the things I have gained and whilst the glitz and glamour of "freebies" and events may be enthralling, it's the passion, love and the people I've met that will never really leave me.

I can't get enough of sheet masks and so when I saw this little bad boy at the bottom of my box, I cracked it straight open, before I'd even photographed it (insert mock shocked faces here everyone) in tea tree oil this little wondrous sheet mask clarifies and moisturisers all whilst fighting blemishes and break outs.

If you read my blog, you'll know that Carmex is my go to when it comes to lip care and so I couldn't be happier to see it in the box this month. The tingly mint shade softens your lips whilst giving them a delicate plump for perfectly smooth lips.

What's your favourite period pick me up?

Highly sought after, LA girl offers premium quality, on trend, innovative beauty, but what did I think when I have some of their products a whirl? Read on to find out.

My package arrived in 2 parts and I received the sought after Concealer, a lip pencil, a red lipstick and their strobing powder.

The lipstick - A beautiful red shade this lipstick takes some serious wear, when paired with the Endless Semi Permanent Lip Liner in true red for extra staying power.

Concealer - The Concealer is a little deceiving and whilst it looked a little dark in the tube, it was actually a perfect match for my skin tone. The perfect way to cover dark circles.

Strobing powder - My favourite out of the parcel, LA girls strobing powder has become a new makeup bag essential for glowy, vibrant skin. Just a tiny amount offers the perfect glow, for skin perfection.

My Experience with L'Oréal & The Matte Addiction collection

If you haven't already seen, in January I was incredibly lucky to be asked to be one of 14 girls to feature in the new L'Oréal Matte Addiction campaign.

I headed down to London for a day with L'Oréal and filmed a new ad for their social media coverage. I was so nervous on the day that I couldn't stop my lip quivering, not ideal when you're trying to shoot an ad about lipstick.

The team were so great and welcoming and put me at ease and I couldn't be more happy, or grateful for the result and opportunity. As a micro Influencer, it's great to see a brand like L'Oréal working with such a diversity of bloggers for each campaign that they do.

Anyway, onto the lipsticks. I've always been a lover of L'Oréal lipsticks, with my colour collection growing every time I pop into Boots, so when I saw the new collection was on three for two, I had to treat myself to my shade and two others.

The formula is similar to their other lipsticks from the Color Riche range, in that it offers incredible wear and pigmentation, all whilst offering a beautiful Matte finish.

I opted for shades Hype, Moka Chic and Scarlet Silhouette which offer a beautiful blend of bold summer brights, a classic essential red and a delicate dreamy every day nude.

I couldn't be happier to add these to my ever growing L'Oréal collection and can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Runway Rogue

Founded by 90s supermodel Patricia Hartmann, Runway Rogue claims to offer an innovative lip line with secrets from the pros, so when they offered to send me some of their new lip collection, I couldn't resist. As a lover of all things lipstick, I couldn't wait for the new products to land on my doorstep.

Marked as lip products with attitude, the line offers shades of delicate peaches in the form of Designer Muse and bright pinks in shade Selfie.

The formula is non drying and smooth and glides on like a dream. Top with one of their glosses for an extra sheen and create a dreamy, more delicate shade.

I can't get enough of the two shades I was sent and find myself using them on an almost daily basis, very high praise indeed.
