Last month I went to London for a small rendezvous with Redken colour for the launch of their new Shades EQ range. The range offers a demi-permanent colour coverage and promises instant shine, so when I was asked if I wanted to shake up my shade, I couldn’t wait to start my journey to discovering the perfect blonde.
As I arrived at Radio London, after a very hectic Sunday morning train journey, I was greeted with my salon team. Claire Flack is the founder of hair and beauty salon Wigs and Warpaint in Sheffield and she arrived with hairdresser Olivia Loades to help me match my perfect blonde.
We discussed styles I loved and we landed upon a shade inspired by Emilia Clarke’s clean blonde shade. As I headed to makeup, the team came up with their plan and once I was ready to go it was time to meet my perfect match.
The next few hours were spent in the chair, under what felt like 1000s of foils as they took my hair from dull and drab to the most beautiful blonde. Once the colouring was finished, it was time to try out the new Shades EQ range to take my hair from ‘yellow’ to ‘oh hello!’
When the colouring was finished, I couldn’t stop looking at the new glossy finish in front of me. My hair looked the shiniest I think it had ever been and I couldn’t wait to take my new style for a spin.
About 6 weeks on and I’m still receiving compliments about the shade of my new do. The baby lights that the salon team added to my natural roots, means that colour upkeep is minimal and with a little weekly love from Redken’s Blondage purple shampoo, the perfect clean shades just seems to go on and on.
Until next time,
