Makeup Revolution Pro Foundation Drops

Revolution Pro Foundation Drops

Revolution are consistently at the forefront of makeup trends. From the latest eyeshadow shades to one of the best concealers on the market (ok, so that’s in my opinion) they consistently manage to offer high quality products on a budget.

When I discovered the Pro range on my usual browse around Superdrug, I have to admit I was a little intrigued. Could Revolution bring out a budget pro range to take on high end competitors? I decided to test out their foundation drops, as after a little play in the Superdrug isle I loved the feel of them on my skin.

Revolution Pro Foundation

Available in 18 shades, the drops are ultra lightweight with a water-based formula. Use the drops to create a barely there finish, for the perfect no makeup, makeup look. I’ve been using a few drops for a sheer look, layering up to build a natural looking medium coverage finish. The real beauty of this foundation, is in it’s buildable nature. One layer offers a soft finish, with a true to skin look, while a second helping offers a medium coverage for evenings out and date nights.

The Revolution foundation range also offers foundation mixing darkener and lightening drops, which are perfect for makeup professionals, looking to add more shades to their makeup artist collection on a budget. For those looking to use Revolution foundation for personal use, the darkening drops offer a solution for those summer days, without having to change your shade, while the lightening drops offer the perfect option for those who want to contour with a natural looking finish.

Revolution pro foundation drops are a steal at just £7 and have become a firm favourite in my collection. If you’d like to give them a try, you can pick them up online or in your local Superdrug store.

Do you need a beauty fridge?

Ever since I laid my eyes on the beauty fridge I was left with multiple questions. What is it for? Should I get one? What could I put inside?

It seems that I wasn’t alone in my questioning, as when Michelle Lee, Allure editor-in-chief shared a photo of her beauty fridge on Instagram, stocked elegantly with skincare junkie favourite Drunk Elephant, it took Twitter by storm. So do you need a beauty fridge? Let’s find out…

What is a beauty fridge?

If you were a child of the 90s, you’ll remember the days of the mini fridge well. Mine hid secret snacks and cans from my siblings and the constant whirring noise at night eventually led me to say a fond farewell to the buzzing beast.

So what gives with the beauty fridge? Well you can say goodbye to your late night snacks and drinking habits, as this little beauty is all about chilled, soothing skincare.

Do you need a beauty fridge?

Well, the short answer here is no. Most skincare products can live happily ever after stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and warm steam in your bathroom.

That’s not to say that some products won’t feel amazing on your skin when chilled. The sensation of a cooling eye patch on puffy eyes after a long night is undeniable, as is the feeling of a cold sheet mask used to boost circulation and offer super depuffing skills.

How do you know what to put in a beauty fridge?

We can all probably swap tales about our grandma storing nail varnish in the fridge in a bid to make it last longer, but when building your beauty fridge stock, what products should you look for?

Personally, i’d opt for sheet masks, face mists, serums and skin rollers, which all feel incredible as they touch the skin when cooled.

As the summer days hit, id also use mine to store a pot of aftersun for those days you may have forgotten to use that ever so important sunscreen.

And what shouldn’t you store in there?

Makeup. The cold often makes makeup products harder to use, as they’re less likely to blend. I’d also avoid adding oils, as they can separate in the cold. Not ideal.

Where can I find a beauty fridge?

You can actually buy specialist fridges for this purpose, with The Makeup Fridge being one of the first on the market. The answer to all your beauty fridge needs, The Makeup Fridge offers options in pink, blue and white.

If you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, i’d recommend your local Argos. If you decide the skincare fridge isn’t for you, you can return to the hay day and hide your favourite snacks in there. Longer Netflix marathons, here you come.

I Heart Revolution Donut Eyeshadow Palettes

Today I’m going to talk to you about donuts, but these aren’t just any donuts, these are donuts with eyeshadow inside them. Yep, you’ve guessed it, I Heart Revolution are back with another fun take on eyeshadow palettes. This time in the form of one of my favourite sweet treats.

The squishy delicious I Heart Revolution Donut palettes come in five different ‘flavours’ each with five highly pigmented shades. You can take your pick from Chocolate Dipped, Strawberry Sprinkles, Raspberry Icing, Blueberry Crush and Maple Glazed.

Read on as I take you through the collection full of swatches and inspiration.

I Heart Revolution Donut Palettes

The Maple Glazed eyeshadow palette offers up a tempting mix of brown and gold shades. The tasty sweet scent offers a scrumptious pick me up, whilst the muted shades of the shadows offer the perfect dusty look for an everyday eye.

The chocolate eyeshadow palette offers five stunning gold and brown shades. Apply the shimmering nudes over the lids and line your eyes with the deep browns for the perfect way to make your eyes pop.

The brightest of the pack, the Blueberry Crush palette tops it as my favourite from the collection. The bright hues offer the perfect summer pop and I can’t get enough of these vibrant blues, which I used it to create this eyeliner look below:

Beyond the blues, we step into the pinks and reds with the Strawberry Sprinkles palette. The fiery intensely pigmented shades are paired beautifully with soft peach and punchy coral to create a gorgeous spring eyeshadow look.

The collection ends with Raspberry Icing. The sweetest of all the palettes, with five scrumptious shades of pink and red. The stunning powdery pinks pair perfectly to complete the look.

Overall the collection stands out in a sea of nudes and golds, with its fun sugar-coated and squishy exterior adding a little fun to your day. The scented packaging is another mood enhancer, producing a smile every time the sweet scents hit.

For only £5 per palette, I feel the I heart Revolution Donut collection offers great pocket money purchase potential. These are a fab budget buy for those looking to have some fun.

If you’d like to try them for yourself you can find the full collection online here . You can also check them out in your local Superdrug store.
